Consciousness is in the eye of the perceiver. It can be assumed that Artificial Intelligence will be able to mimic consciousness in ways that will fool most humans in the very near future, but is that enough to classify it as fully conscious?
If that were the only question, it would be easy to answer. But then there’s the question that we’ve asked before about whether the demonic or otherwise supernatural can “possess” through technological or spiritual means the artificial intelligence models of the near future. Some would say they already have.
