Ryan Garcia was arrested Saturday for felony vandalism at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Beverly Hills.
The boxing superstar allegedly trashed his hotel room and the hallway before the Beverly Hills Police Department intervened. The hotel alleges that Garcia caused more than $15,000 in damage, according to police . Any damage over $400 is considered a felony in California.
Video from TMZ Sports shows Garcia — handcuffed, shirtless and wearing a helmet — being led out of the hotel by officers.
After he was booked at the Beverly Hills Police Department jail, Garcia reportedly complained of a medical issue and was transferred to a local hospital for evaluation. Garcia’s attorney, Darin Chavez, said his client may also be charged with public intoxication.Chavez cited Garcia’s recent struggles with mental health and said the boxer recently received “devastating” news about his mother’s health.
