OPINION: This article contains commentary which reflects the author’s opinion Joe Biden says he is “checking” to see if he has the power to intervene against states like Florida and Texas for instituting mask mandate bans.
While speaking to reporters on Tuesday at the White House, Biden said he does not believe he has the ability to, but was still checking to see if his presidential powers could essentially allow him to overrule states banning mask mandates.
NBC reporter Peter Alexander asked Biden: “Do you have presidential powers to intervene in states like Texas and Florida where they are banning mask mandates?”
