Americans could finally breathe a sigh of relief as many of the mask mandates around the country finally began to lift. Well, they could. Now, though, it seems one of America’s most liberal cities has decided to bring back the days of mandatory masks.
The Los Angeles County of Public Health has announced that locals must wear a mask indoors, regardless of vaccination status.
This certainly came as a surprise to Californians who hoped getting a vaccine would finally set their faces free.
“Community transmission of COVID-19 has rapidly increased from Moderate to Substantial, based on the trend in daily new cases of COVID-19,” the LA public health office said. “The Los Angeles County Health Officer Order will be modified to require masking for everyone while indoors, regardless of vaccination status, as Los Angeles County sees more than a seven-times increase in new cases since the June 15 reopening.
