But, the bottom line is, people evolve, public servants evolve, and I think you want someone in office who’s willing to take a hard look at the issues and be open-minded when it comes to where they stand, the more they learn about an issue, and, by the way, the more that issue also evolves.“
The conversation concluded with a reassurance from Elrod regarding Harris’ current positions.
“Absolutely safe to say that, Willie, no doubt. She made that very clear on the debate stage Tuesday night. She’s evolved on some positions, but when it comes to where she stands on the issues that matter to the American people, her values remain the same. Those have been unchanged her entire career, when she was a prosecutor, when she was attorney general of California, when she was a United States senator, and, obviously, as Vice President.“

As we witness the continual erosion of clear, principled stances in favor of a more ‘evolved’ approach to governance, the need for a return to our foundational values becomes ever more apparent.
The preservation of our heritage, the very essence of the American dream, must not be left in the hands of those who see it as malleable. For in doing so, we risk losing the core of our national identity, sacrificed at the altar of political expediency.
