At least three Catholic churches were the targets of arson attacks this month, the latest report coming from Alberta, Canada.
According to the Catholic News Agency , Canadian police are looking for a middle-aged man who allegedly set fire to St. Mary’s Cathedral in Calgary on May 19 and threatened two staff members.
In a March 25 statement, the Calgary Police Department said they believe the man “deliberately set fire” to the church in the early morning of May 19. The report does not mention how extensively the fire damaged the building, but police said they believe the attack may be a “hate” crime.
