NATO has formally invited Sweden and Finland to join the western military alliance, according to a statement from NATO Heads of State and Government on Wednesday.
“Today, we have decided to invite Finland and Sweden to become members of NATO, and agreed to sign the Accession Protocols,” read the statement.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said following the formal invitation, “we need a ratification process in 30 parliaments; that always takes some time, but I expect also that to go rather quickly because allies are ready to try to make that ratification process happen as quickly as possible.” The membership process generally takes several months.
On Tuesday, Turkey lifted its veto on Finland and Sweden joining the U.S.-led alliance.The expansion of NATO to include Finland and Sweden is largely a consequence of Vladimir Putin’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine.

I refuse to be beholden to Big Tech like so many other conservative news outlets, which is why you won’t see Google ads here. With that said, it’s often challenging to pay the bills and it’s even harder to expand so we can get the America First message out to a wider audience.
The economic downturn has forced me to make a plea for help. Between cancel culture, lockdowns, and diminishing ad revenue, we need financial assistance in order to continue to spread the truth.
